2003 WAVA/AAVA Summer Meeting

General Conference Information

July 31 to August 2, 2003

Abstracts Due by: June 20, 2003 (See next page for more information on Scientific program and abstract submission)

Registration Fee by June 10th, 2003: $150; $75 for Emeriti/retirees/graduate students, free for graduate student presenters.

Registration Fee after June 10th : $180; $85 for emeriti/retirees/graduate students.

Registration fee includes: Conference materials, Airport and Hotel Shuttle, 3 Lunches, Banquet, and Coffee breaks, as well as, Trip to the “Great Smoky Mountain National Park” for an evening of beauty, fellowship and food.

Optional Friday night: Visit Appalachia Museum for tour and dinner: $25 not included in registration feel.

Hotel reservations: Due by May 10th, 2003, To Dr. Robert Henry.

• Knoxville Marriott - $70 per night [plus 17% tax ($12) = $82] for 1 king or 2 double beds.

• The Maplehurst Inn - $80 per night (tax included and a great breakfast buffet) for one or two beds. Limited # of rooms.

• Executive Inn motel - $40 per night (tax and light continental breakfast included) for 1 double, $50 per night for 2 double beds

• These lodging rates are possible for pre-congress or post-congress stays.

Spouse or Accompanying Persons Program:

• Thursday: Visit historic area mansions and museum

• Friday: Tour Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies and visit the charming town of Gatlinburg in the Smoky Mountains

• Saturday: Go underground into the spectacular Tuckaleechee Caverns and lunch at the Have. 

Complimentary Airport Shuttle provided to McGee-Tyson (TYS) (Knoxville) Airport if you let us know your flight schedule. Fee shuttle to Nashville Airport ($69.00 round trip). It may be possible for us to send a complimentary shuttle, if several attendees plan to arrive and depart at a similar time, via Nashville (BNA) Airport.
