UTCVM / CAFSP / DHS Training Program / Instructors

Potential Instructors

The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine (UTCVM) is a training partner with the Department of Homeland Security, Office of Grants and Training (G&T), and is seeking individuals to teach its management level course "Agriculture & Food Vulnerability Assessment Training Program." The course will run 2 1/2 days and will be delivered nationwide.

Because of the technical material contained in this program, ideally instructors should have background or experience working with or teaching on agriculture or food related issues. Although exceptions will be considered for highly experienced instructors, specific agriculture or food related experience will allow the instructor to speak knowledgeably about the course subject matter and to effectively respond to participant questions. Prospective instructors should submit a complete resume (or curriculum vitae) to Ann White, Program Administrator at awhite26@utk.edu. Resumes should document their experience in teaching and highlight any relevant agriculture or food related experience. In general, a minimum of 7 years of teaching experience will be required to meet DHS training guidelines. In exceptional cases, specialized experience may be accepted to meet this minimum requirement. At a minimum, a B.A. or B.S. degree will be required.
