Threats in Tribal Communities

The purpose of this management level, instructor-led course is to provide tribal nations with the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to effectively detect, respond to, manage and mitigate all-hazard threats using a whole community approach. This course will include a practical exercise designed specifically to meet the needs of tribal communities.

The course will address the unique challenges that tribal nations face in in effectively detecting, responding to, managing and mitigating threats that include disease outbreaks and the occurrence of environmental health threats, using a whole community approach.

Target Audience

The target audience will be tribal nation representatives and other support officials from emergency management, public health, law enforcement, fire, cooperative extension, medical services, environmental health, veterinarians, and animal health officials.
