Seong-Ho Lee, Ph.D.
Post-Doc Fellow
NSAIDs, DIM, ATF3, EGR-1, NAG-1
Tel 865-974-2310
Email shlee@mail.ag.utk.edu
About Dr. Lee: His Interests are Chemoprevention and molecular pharmacology, including three major projects:
1) chemoprevention studies with phytochemicals (indole-3 carbinol, 3,3'-diindolylmethane, and 6-gingerol) with the goals of identifying molecular mechanisms of their actions;
2) investigation of transcriptional regulation of pro-apoptotic genes (ATF3, NAG-1) and identification of molecular mechanisms by which NSAIDs induce apoptosis in human colorectal carcinoma;
3) Functional analysis of NAG-1 gene using transgenic mice.
Maria Cekanova, Ph.D.
Post-Doc Fellow
PPARgamma ligands, IGFBP3, ESDN
Tell 865-974-1884
Email mcekanov@utk.edu
About Dr. Cekanova: Her research focuses on the modulation of genes and proteins expression by peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) γ ligands, such as MCC-555, Roziglitazone or 15-deoxy-Δ12, 14 –prostaglandin J2 (PGJ2) in colon cancer. The PPARγ ligands play an important role in inflammation-, insulin-, and cancer-related mechanisms.
