The surgery faculty provide a comprehensive service and expertise in arthroscopic surgery, laser surgery, fracture repair, hoof reconstruction, abdominal surgery, respiratory tract surgery reproductive procedures and cryosurgery.
Food animal abdominal surgical procedures, cosmetic dehorns, and reproductive procedures and C-sections are also offered. The University of Tennessee Large Animal Teaching Hospital is a modern, very well equipped facility with many diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities. Some of the equipment and facilities include 1,2, and 3 meter videoendoscopes, ultrasonography, sophisticated anesthesia monitoring capabilities, electrodiagnostics, nuclear medicine complex, neonatal intensive care unit, Nd:YAG and CO2 lasers, arthroscopy, and laparoscopy.
