UTCVM Farrier Service (Podiatry)

Abnormalities of the foot are quite common and many are difficult to resolve. The University of Tennessee offers the services of a Certified Journey Man Farrier and of surgeons knowledgeable in diseases of the foot. Foot problems, such a keratoma, quittor, and canker, require surgical correction, are performed at the University of Tennessee. Our Certified Journey Man Farrier commonly treats horses affected with the following conditions: chronic laminitis, navicular syndrome, quarter cracks, white line disease, and angular/flexural limb deformities.
