ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Knoxville Emergency Management Agency and the Knox County Health Department Emergency Preparedness Department will be hosting a Knox County Disaster Animal Response Team (DART) meeting on October 19, 2010. This invitation is open to those interested in becoming a DART member. If you have received credentials from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture in the past, we encourage you to attend as well. Please download brochure.

There have been changes in the requirements of becoming a DART member. This is due to an effort by the federal government that requires all responding volunteers to understand and utilize the Incident Command System. This requirement, along with other important information, will be discussed at the meeting.

Light refreshments will be served from 5:30pm to 6:00pm. Please RSVP to this invitation by Tuesday, October 12th by emailing Jennifer.Wilson@knoxcounty.org or by fax to 865-582-4604. Please include your name and names of others attending with you. If you have been issued a DART badge in the past, please bring it with you.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Alan Lawson
Director
Knoxville Emergency Management Agency

No DART program in Tennessee is set up to receive donations because none are 501c3 organizations. If you want to donate money to help animals, ensure it is going to a qualified charitable organization by asking for that organization's 501c3 number.
