Large Animal Clerkships

These clinical services are available on a first come, first serve basis for students interested in equine, and food animal medicine and surgery.

Equine medicine and equine surgery blocks are 4 weeks in duration.

Field services, food animal medicine, surgery, and anesthesia are 2 to 4 weeks in duration.

We allow one extern student per service per block of time.

We prefer that externs schedule one month blocks, but arrangements can be made for two week rotations.

Blocks begin at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesdays and end on a Monday.

Neonatal intensive care is covered by the medicine service and is seasonal.

All services share in intensive care, treatment and emergency services in the evenings and on weekends.
