  • These clinical services are available on a first come, first serve basis for students interested in equine, and food animal medicine and surgery.

  • Equine medicine and equine surgery blocks are 4 weeks in duration.

  • Field services, food animal medicine, surgery, and anesthesia are 2 to 4 weeks in duration.

  • We allow one extern student per service per block of time.

  • We prefer that externs schedule one month blocks, but arrangements can be made for two week rotations.

  • Blocks begin at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesdays and end on a Monday.

  • Neonatal intensive care is covered by the medicine service and is seasonal.

  • All services share in intensive care, treatment and emergency services in the evenings and on weekends.
