Additional Information

Dr. Ralph Harvey is an associate professor of anesthesiology in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, where he has been a member of the faculty since 1985. He served as the Director of Surgical Services from 1993 through 2000. Dr. Harvey received the DVM degree from the University of Tennessee and the MS degree in genetics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His internship and residency were completed at Cornell University. He also completed a fellowship at Cornell’s Medical College. He is certified as a specialist by the American College of Veterinary Anesthesiologists and has served as Executive Secretary of the ACVA, and is currently a member of the Board of Directors. Dr. Harvey has been involved with the Southern Appalachian Science and Engineering Fair as President, member of the Board, and Chair of Scientific Review. Dr. Harvey has worked with the Explorer Scouting Program for a number of years as an adult leader. He received the 1998 Outstanding Faculty Member Award from theTennessee Veterinary Medical Association. He is a member of the board of the Tennessee Citizens for Wilderness Planning.
