Sept 27, 2005 -- Dr. Melissa Kennedy will discuss "canine influenza virus" this afternoon on WBIR's (NBC affiliate) "Live at Five." Dave Foulk with Citadel Broadcasting (WIVK, WNOX, The River, and other radio stations in the Knoxville area) has also interviewed her. He expects that story to run throughout the day tomorrow.

How To Heal A Broken Heart: Recovering from Pet Loss
This class will look at societal attitudes of pet loss and explore participants’ perceptions of the loss. Participants will learn coping skills to deal with the loss of their pet. We will discuss the importance of memorializing your pet, how to say goodbye, and if and when you should get a new pet. All companion animals are included. The class will cover specific stages of grief and you will have the opportunity to share experiences with other pet owners.A $15 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the first class for the textbook: The Grief Recovery Handbook.
