EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION:
FIRST AID
In the event of an emergency, do not panic. Your pet will stay quieter if you are calm.
Transport your pet to a veterinarian as soon as possible. It is a good idea to call ahead so that they can be prepared for you.
Always remember that any injured animal may bite. A temporary muzzle can be made using gauze or panty hose. Tighten a loop securely around the dog's muzzle, then tie it behind the ears. Do not leave the muzzle on for long periods.
Use a blanket or coat to secure small animals which cannot be muzzled.
When transporting an injured animal a stretcher can be improvised using a towel or blanket.
