Study of Dietary Modification in Dogs with Chronic Kidney Failure
Researchers at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine are seeking participants for a study to evaluate how diet can help dogs with kidney failure. Dogs must have a medically confirmed diagnosis of kidney failure, must be in stable condition and have a negative heartworm test to participate. The study is a non-invasive one that involves a series of routine blood and urine tests. It will last a minimum of two months and may continue up to two years. Participating dogs will receive a supply of special food free of charge. All costs associated with the initial UT office visit, follow-up appointments and laboratory tests will be covered by the study.
