Karen Armsey, director of HABIT says, "The work that I do with my dogs in the HABIT (Human Animal Bond in Tennessee) program is the best thing that I do. UTCVM small animal intern Emily Armstrong rescued Romeo, a border collie/corgi mix, when he was 3 months old. Emily says, "He's my best friend and the best dog I've ever had. I don't know what I'd do without him."
UTCVM Licensed veterinary technician Jamie Stuffle and her family have two horses, four cats, two dogs and 10 ducks. She calls them her family. "All our animals are great companions, especially to my daughter Julianne. She teaches the dogs tricks, dresses them up and puts on 'dog shows' in our barn with me announcing 'Here comes Julianne Stuffle with Beagle'," laughs Jamie.
Danielle Groeling, Assistant Director of Veterinary Social Work, with her two furry family members, Lily and Milo. The hound family has recently expanded after adopting a rescue whippet, Abby. "We all love being outdoors especially this time of year. There will be lots of hiking in the hills this fall," says Groeling.
UTCVM Assistant Director of Development and Alumni Relations Megan McMurray has one dog, Faeden and two cats, Finnegan and Shenanigan. Megan says, "Faeden makes the best hiking companion. She keeps me company and is my protector. She is also a better athlete than me!
