Walk and Wag: A Young Girl's Dream Helps Others
(Knoxville, TN) -- Abby Gibson loved animals--especially horses. This caring 10-year old brought love and joy into every life--human and animal--she touched. Abby dreamed of one day going to UT College of Veterinarian and becoming an animal doc.
In the summer of 2010, Abby died from injuries received in a horseback riding accident. News Sentinel reporter Amy McCrary spoke with Jennifer Gibson about her daughter Abby.
To embrace her dreams, the Abby Gibson Veterinary Medicine Scholarship Endowment at UTCVM was created. To help raise funds for the endowment, Abby's mom has created the Walk and Wag Dog Walk.
WBIR's Emily Stroud spoke with Abby's mom, Jennifer, about the little girl's love of animals and her dreams of being a veterinarian. Click here to watch the story.
The Walk & Wag Dog Walk 2012 will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Victor Ashe Park in Knoxville, TN. This is a rain or shine event!
All proceeds will benefit the Abby Gibson Veterinary Medicine Scholarship Endowment at The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.
If you would like to be part of Team UTCVM at the walk, please download the form and follow submission instructions.
