Interest in the research symposium at the Knoxville campuses of the University of Tennessee has grown exponentially since its inception in 2007, jumping from 15 presenters to more than 80 in just 3 years. In addition, the UT Center for Public Health, UTK Office of Research, Tennessee Agricultural Experiment Station, UT Graduate School, and the Graduate School of Medicine joined the College of Veterinary Medicine to offer two days of presentations on human and animal health research. On June 15 & 16, 2009, the UT Agriculture Campus hosted a large group of biomedical, veterinary, and public health scientists, including UT presenters from various departments. Monday featured mostly public health-focused presentations, with basic and clinical research featured on Monday afternoon and all day Tuesday.
