The ACVA is the board-certifying association of Veterinary Anesthesiologists.

The European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia (ECVA) was established in 1993 and is the central authority regulating and certifying the standard of specialisation in veterinary anaesthesia in Europe. This site provides contact details for all ECVA diplomates and officers, and details of the autumn and spring meetings. The ECVA guide contains information on requirements for admission to ECVA, training programmes, qualifying examination, and an example of a veterinary anaesthesia case report. Links to relevant Web sites are provided. 

The Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists is an active, enthusiastic group of veterinary surgeons and others who share an interest in animal anaesthesia. We hold regular meetings at various venues in Europe which are open to all those who share our common interest. The Association was established in 1964 to promote the study of, and research into, the subject of anaesthesia in animals. It also publishes the Journal of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia. and has been active in the founding of the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia. We are keen to promote collaboration between anaesthetists in all places, and actively encourage the establishment and taking of diplomas and degrees in veterinary anaesthesia.
