“This book will hopefully empower people concerned about the welfare of animals,” said Dr. John New, Head of the Department of Comparative Medicine at the veterinary college. The book will also help identify gaps in the state law.
Teresa Jennings, Program Coordinator of CAIT, said, “We’re hoping this can be a resource that will make it easier for the general public to become better informed regarding their rights, privileges, and obligations to animals.”
The complete version has all laws that pertain to all animals in TN. The cat/dog version contains all laws that pertain to just cats, dogs, and sheltering them.
Any profits from the sale of the book or CD will go to support humane education, spay/neuter efforts, and prevention of animal abuse.
