Meet a Member of our Team: Eric Hilton

We want to introduce you to our team of Licensed Veterinary Medical Technicians--one person at a time. On a regular basis and in random order, we will post a brief biography and photo of one of our team members.

Eric Hilton, LVMT is a licensed veterinary medical technician in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the University of Tennessee Veterinary Medical Center

Meet Eric Hilton, LVMT. Eric has been at the University of Tennessee Veterinary Medical Center (UTVMC) since November 2012. He graduated from San Juan College with an Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology and also has a degree in biology with a minor in biochemistry.

Eric, who has an interest in emergency medicine as well as cardiology and endocrinology, is a licensed veterinary technician in the small animal Intensive and Critical Care Unit (ICU) at the UTVMC. "I really enjoy working with animals," he says. "They give so much to us so selflessly, including love and loyalty." He adds that being part of the veterinary field is one way he chooses to give back to animals.

Eric enjoys the fact that no two days are ever the same in ICU. "We get to work with some of the most in-depth cases from all aspects of veterinary medicine including surgery, internal medicine and critical care just to name a few. It is a very challenging and at the same time rewarding career."

Eric has a Great Pyrenees named Rufus, a Norwegian Forest Cat named Colin and a Ragdoll named Petrie. As if they didn't keep him busy enough, he just added a Piebald Ball Python named Beeker.  Away from work he enjoys the great outdoors and spending time with friends and family.
