Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians Invited to our Annual Continuing Education Conference
(Knoxville, TN. December 20, 2012) -- The program for the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine Annual Conference is now available. Click here for fees and the full program.
The conference will be held at the Knoxville Marriott February 1-3, 2013. The hotel has reserved a block of rooms for those attending. Please make reservations with the hotel by January 11.
Saturday and Sunday morning sessions include "Breakfast with a Professor" in the East Lobby from 7:30am-8:15am. Saturday morning's professors are Dr. Al Legendre (New Therapy for FIP), Dr. Mike Jones (Birds: Ask and You Shall Receive), and Dr. David Anderson (Ask Me Anything- But Don't Call Me Names). Sunday morning's professors are Dr. Reza Seddighi (Equine Field Anesthesia), Dr. Amy Holford (Anything Adrenal), and Dr. Olya Smrkovski (Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors).
Saturday evening features alumni activities including class reunions for the classes of 1983, 1988, 1993, 1998, 2003, and 2008.
The UTCVM Annual Conference is made possible through the Coughlin Endowment. The late Dr. Dennis Coughlin Jr., an orthopedic surgeon in Knoxville, and his family created "The Coughlin Endowment" in memory of Dr. Dennis Coughlin Sr. The senior Dr. Coughlin's illustrious career included veterinary practice with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and as president of the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association from 1940-1941. This year's UTCVM Distinguished Coughlin Professor is veterinary ophthalmologist Dr. Dan Ward. The Small Animal Coughlin Visiting Professor is Dr. J Catharine R. Scott-Moncrieff, a professor of small animal internal medicine and director of international programs at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. The Large Animal Coughlin Visiting Professor is Dr. Claude Ragle, a professor of equine surgery at Washington State University.
